Lecturers’ profiles:

Ján Markoš is a long-time lecturer and author of the most successful book on critical thinking on the Slovak market to date, The Power of Reason in Crazy Times. He brings his experience as a chess player to his teaching methods and teaches how to make calm and rational decisions. At AKM, he is an expert in the field of value disputes and understanding the errors of our minds.

Emma Barilová is a critical thinking methodologist at the Slovak Debate Association, specializing in teacher training. She helps shape the next generation of leaders through training and workshops. She has experience working in the public sector. She has worked in ministries and in the office of the President of the Slovak Republic.

About the Doctoral School

The aim of the Doctoral School is to enable the development of both hard and soft skills of doctoral students, but also to expand their practical laboratory skills. During their studies, doctoral students can look forward to workshops and lectures that will help them strengthen their critical thinking and communicate more effectively, as well as master advanced statistics and bioinformatics methods.
