Executive Laboratory of the National Reference Centre for Surveillance and Laboratory Diagnostics of Rickettsioses

This laboratory continues the legacy of the former WHO Collaborating Centre for Rickettsial Reference and Research in Bratislava. It provides diagnostic and surveillance services for tick-borne bacteria, including Rickettsia, Borrelia, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Bartonella, and Coxiella.

The laboratory

  • Detects and characterizes pathogens in human, animal, and tick samples.
  • Maps natural foci of these microorganisms in Slovakia
  • Investigates their epidemiological and ecological links to human diseases, vectors, and animal reservoirs.

Public Services

  • Analysis of ticks for presence of tick-borne pathogens (Testing requests and sample submission: please complete the order form “tick analysis” and  send to analyzakliesta@gmail.com.

Please deliver the samples according to the instructions provided in the “Order Form” or deliver in person along with the form. Analyses are processed on a first-come basis unless otherwise arranged.
